Babar ready to face PBC, rejects NAB

Updated at: 1723 PST, Tuesday, December 15, 2009 ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan Tuesday said that he does not even accept the NAB and notices issued against him and other lawyers are against the law. “I am ready to face the allegations before the Pakistan Bar Council”, he added. While talking to the journalist in Islamabad he expressed that he considers the NAB notices start of a conspiracy to manacle the hundred thousand lawyers and this is an interruption in Bar Association’s freedom. He advised the NAB to study the Legal Practitioners’ and Bar Council Act and reverse all the unlawful notices sent to him and other lawyers. He said that his career is clean and clear. Supreme Bar Council is responsible for the accountability of the lawyers and he is all set to face the allegations before Pakistan Bar Council.
